IMPORTS OF MEAT
UNITED KINGDOM FIGURES NEW ZEALAND SHIPMENTS. The New Zealand Meat Producers Board is advised by cable from its London office that the shipments of meat from Australia, South America, and South Africa to the United Kingdom during the frst half of August, 193'7, were as follows: Australia: Carcasses mutton, 14,086; lamb, 20,549; quarters beef, frozen, 40,000; chilled, 21,268. South America: Carcasses mutton, 4,687; iamb, 80,640; quarters beef, frozen, 564; chilled, 172,240. South Africa (including Southern Rhodesia): Quarters beef, chilled 4,070. The shipments from New Zealand to the United Kingdom for the first half of August were: Carcasses mutton, 85,1 73; lamb, 362,142; quarters beef, frozen. 5.280; chilled, 8,305.
