WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
NGATEA. The Ngatea Women’s Institute held its monthly meeting in the Ngatea Hall on Wednesday. The roll call was answered by everyone of the fair attendance present. Final arrangements were made for the group meeting to be held on September 30. It was decided that theOctober meeting should start at 12.30 p.m. and the birthday celebrations at 1.30 p.m. The entertainment programme for the afternoon was started by Mesdames J. Galvin and F. Hallett in a vocal duet. Mrs Grbich conducted a lucky spot competition, and Miss Irwin a song competition. Mrs Hughes concluded with two recitations.
The hostesses for the day were Mesdames Riddehough and Phelps and Miss Paul and Miss E. Leonard.
