GALLIPOLI AND SALONIKA PLANS FOR 1936. The Paeroa branch of the R.S.A. has received notification from headquarters that the Cunard White Star liner, ‘Lancastria,’ will make a special pilgrimage cruise in May, 1936, to include Malta, Salonika, Gallipoli and Istanbul. The cruise will not be limited to .r-servicemen and therefore next-of-kin relatives and friends may be interested. It is hoped in view of the nature of this trip to interest as many colonials as possible. There are no few’er than 480 berths which can be booked for under £3O. Not only accommodation and meals on board are included in these fares but also all landing and embarkation fees. Applications should be forwarded to the head office of the Cunard White Star Ltd., Cruise Passenger Department, Cunard Building, Liverpool. Forms may be obtained from the local secretary, Mr J. Depart Liverpool, Friday, May Ist, 1936, at 6 p.m. Arrive Malta, Thursday, May 7th, at 8 p.m. Arrive Salonika, Sunday, May 10th, at 8 a.m. Arrive Kalia Bay (Gallipoli), Tuesday, May 12th, at 8 a.m. (Steam up Bosphorus). Arrive Tnstanbul, Thursday, May 14th, at 9 a.m. Arrive Liverpool or London, Saturday, May 23rd. Shore Excursions. Malta.—(a) Citta Vecchia: Motor Drive places of interest, fare 18/-. (b) Valetta: Afternoon motor drive, fare 9/-. Salonika. —(a) First day: Excursion by motor car to Struma and Serres (subject to a minimum of 25 passengers), fare 32/-. (b) Second Day: Excursion by special train to Greece (packed luncheon from steamer) returning afternoon; stopping en route at Kilkis to see Saragol, fare 18/6. (c) Half-day Excursion by motor car to Mikra, Hortiate and Karetchkeuv (subject to a minimum of 25 passengers), fare 13/6. Gallipoli.—First day: Whole day by motor to Kelia Bay, across Peninsula to Anzac Cove and Suvla Bay and back; Second day: Whole day by special launch or steamer to Kelia to Helles and back, visiting battlefields at point of the Peninsula. Fare 32/6 (for two days). Packed luncheon must be taken from steamer each day. Party will be divided into two sections: Section 1 visiting Anzac and Suvla on first day and Helles on second day, and Section 2 reversing the programme.

Istanbul.—'(a) Town: Whole day motor drive to places of interest. St. Sophia Mosque, Imperial Museum, Sultan Suleiman and Mosaique Mosques, Bazaars, including luncheon. Fare 38/-. (b) Town: Morning drive visiting St. Sophia, The Cisterns, Mosque of Sultan Ahmet, etc., returning to steamer for luncheon. Fare 14/6. All fares are liable to alteration without notice.
