EASTERLY GALE
DAMAGE AT PAEROA SHOP WINDOWS BROKEN. The long spell of excellent weather vhich has prevailed since election day was broken yesterday when light rain commenced about mid-day. Last night the wind increased to gale force and some damage was caused in gardens and orchards. Three windows of Mr L. P. Manning’s shop in Bain’s Buildings were broken as the result of the gale breaking the fastenings of an outside blind which flapped about, causing the pole to go through an lift, by 6ft. plate glass window and rings on the blind to break small panes of frosted glass above the. main window.
