■ ' ' p —-—•— ——■ PRESBYTERIAN LADIES’ GUILD. NETHERTON BAZAAR. Members of the Netherton Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild held a very successful sale of work in the Netherton Hall yesterday afternoon and evening. The attendance was good and satisfactory business was done, so that a fair sum was raised for the Church building fund. The stall-holders were: Produce, Mesdames H. Dally and C. H. Potter; Sweets, Mesdames C. Stembridge, C. Neild, and H. Morrison, and Misses Craig, Adam and Morrison, Cakes, Mesdames Locke and Craig; plain and fancy sewing, Mesdames McNeil,senr., J. Walker and A. Vowles; flowers and plants, Miss J. Vowles; afternoon tea, Mesdames J. Crosby and Print and Miss J. Jamieson. Good entries were received for the cooking competitions, the prize-win-ners being as follows: — Fruit cake, Mrs Locke 1, Mrs Print 2; sponge with butter, Mrs Print 1, Mrs Dally 2; Madeira cake, Mrs Print 1, Mrs E. Wilson 2; shortbread, Mrs Locks 1, Mrs Walker 2; sponge without butter, Mrs Print 1, Mrs Walker . 2; bread, Mrs Epps 1, Mrs Fraser 2; pikelets, Mrs Potter, senr., 1, Mrs Dally 2. During the evening selections were rendered by the Turua Band and musical and vocal items by Messrs Craig and Bennett (2), and Misses N. and E. Bennett, of Paeroa. Mrs Print also sang a solo. Competition winners were as follows:—Shooting, gents, Mr R. Allan; ladies, Mrs 11. Morrison. Quoits, ladies. Mrs W. Harold; nail driving, ladies, Mrs Print; gents, Mr L. Potter.
