SWIMMING.
THE PAEROA CLUB. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. At the monthly meeting of the executive of the Paeroa Amateur Swimming Club last evening, the president (Mr W. D. Nicholas) presided over Messrs G. S. Taiboys, H. Verran, P. S. Meachem, F. Hayward, S. Denize, and the secretary (Mr P. Barclay). Opening Carnival. The following programme was adopted for the official opening of the club on Saturday, November 28th, at 2.30 p.m., provided sufficient entries were received: — 1. Tiny tots, across the baths (under 8 years), handicap. 2. Junior girls, 33 1-3 yards (under 15 years), handicap. 3. Junior boys, 33 1-3 yards (under 15 years), handicap. 4. Water polo. 5. Ladies handicap, 33 1-3 yards. 6. Men’s handicap. 33 1-3 yards. 7. Men's handicap. 66 2-3 yards. 8. Diving (open). 9. Diving (boys under 15 years). 10. Diving, ladies (standing and running off low board). 11. Dual Relay, handicap. 12. Greasy boom. 13. Life saving. The above is not the order of events. Trophies. The secretary advised that four miniature cups had been received from the Herbert Smith fund trustees. It was decided to write thanking the Herbert Smith trustees for the cups. It was decided that the picture donated by Mr A. E. Martin be given to the lady member obtaining the greatest number of wins during the season. New Members. The following new members were nominated and accepted: W. Winter, H. Boggs and E. Maunder. On Mr Meachem’s suggestion, Mr D. Fraser was appointed the club’s representative at Thames.
