CURIOUS CAR NAMES.
The prevailing fashion in nomenclature is to call ears after snakes and insect;, and aeroplanes after birds. On land there are: Hornets, Gnats, Midget?. Vipers, and Scorpions. In the air the names arc more romantic: Engle, Falcon, Condor, Hawk, have lent their names to famous RollsRoyce engines. Now they are joined by Kestrel and Buzzard, whose names are used, by Air Ministry request, in place of the former designations “F” and “H.” The system of calling engines by letters was found to be confusing. Names of birds are not only easier to remember, but they are more suggests of speed in the air.
