KOPU STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held its monthly stock sale at Kopu on Tuesday. There was a'large yarding of springers and practically all-changed hands at satisfactary prices. Best heifers made from £7 12s 6d to £8; others, £6, to £6 17s 6d; and smaller and backward, £3 10s to £5 ss. Sound cows brought from £5 10s to £6 10s; others, £4 15s to £5 ss. A good yarding of beef sold under keen competition, best fat cows bringing from £6 10s "to £7 2s 6d; others, £5 5s to £6 ss; lighter, £4 12s 6d z to £4 17s 6d; unfinished. £3 to £3 15s; and boners, from 15s to 30s. Bulls sold at £2 12s. There was a good yarding of pigs. Good stores sold to £1 13s; smaller, £1 4s to £1 6s; and good weaners, at 21s. A pen of store lambs sold at 8s 3d.
HIKUTAIA STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report: — “At Hikutaia sale on Wednesday we penned a heavy yarding of pigs and a medium yarding of beef and dairy cattle. Late rates were fully maintained on all classes. “Quotations: — “Pigs: Good stores, £1 7s to £1 15s; slips, £1 Is to £1 6s; weaners. 10s to 19s; sows in pig, £1 10s to £3 7s 6d. “Fat wethers, £1 Is 3d to £1 2s 6d; fat steers, to £7 12s 6d; fat cows, heavy, £5 17s 63 to £7; medium, £4 10s to £5 ss; light. £3 2s to £4 ss; forward conditioned cows, £2 2s to £2 12s 6d; fresh store cows, £1 Ils to £1 18s; boners, 10s to £1 4s; 15 months Jersey heifers, to £3 Is. “Dairies: Jersey heifers, well forward, £6 10s to £8 10s; more backward, £4 to £5 ss; Friesian heifers. £4 7s 6d to £8 15s; sound cows, £6 10s to £7; poorer sorts, £2 to £3 10s.”
