SOCIAL AT TIROHIA.

SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. DENTAL CLINIC BENEFITS. A highly successful dance and sccial ; was held in the Tirohia School on Thursday last, in aid of the local quota for the Paeroa Dental Clinic. The dancing commenced at 8 p.m., and the last dance in the vicinity of 2 a.m. Thanks are due to the people who helped towards thae success of the evening by their attendance, to the parents who provided the bountiful and dainty supper, to the musicians, Mr Paul Peni and the * Wilkinson family, to the able and efficient’joint M’s.C., Miss E. C. Coad and Mr J. Thomas, to the ladies and stewards, who assisted with supper, to the Commissioner, Mr'B. E.. Veale, who did most of the organising and suffereda polar breeze by ’ acting as doorkeeper, and to those Paeroa firms which donated prizes. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Gillard and partner; the spot , waltz by Miss L. McCracken and partner, and a cake guessing competition by Mr H, Mitchell. Some of the items most appreciated by the gathering were: — Songs: “E pari, ra,” by Misses Annie Johnston; Queenie Wilkinson, Mary Harrison, Annie Richmond,' Nellie Hennah; duets, “Colorado” and “Texas’’; Miss Annie Johnson and Master l Willie Morrison; song, “My Old Pal,” i “Rameka Pent,” and recitation “The Sensitive Kettle,” Joyce Antich. The Haka was given by the Wilkinson family and a Charleston by Morgan Wilkinson.
