RIFLE SHOOTING.
PAEROA MINIATURE CLUB. A. E. PEARSON’S TROPHY. , The- Paeroa Miniature Rifle Club ?held a very successful handicap match in the local Drill Hall last nigh. 1 :, when one 'of the two trophies generously donated by Mr A. E. Pearson was shot for. A sweepstake constituted the second and third prizes. There was a large attendance, including several new members. Ten shots and one sighter were fired, making the possible, gnd also the limit up to which the handicap could be taken to be 100. The shooting was of a very high standard, so much so, that no less than five members reached the limit and were required to shoot off to decide the winning places. In this shoot off James Frost succeeded in finishing ’ with the best total, 99, and won Mr Pearson’s trophy. M. Charlesworth and J. Jaspers finished in second and third places respectively. The scoring was as follows:—
Next Tuesday the second trophy donated by Mr A. E. Pearson will be shot for, under the same conditions as this one.
