BASKETBALL.
SUCCESS OF PAEROA SCHOOLA SHIELD WON. The Paeroa District High School basketball team won the Mollie Fitzgerald Shield at Te Aroha on. Saturday last. ' / In the first round Paeroa beat Mor-, rinsville by 19 to 12, and in the second round beat Te Aroha, which had previously beaten Matama(a, by 14 goals to ‘ 13. This was a particularly good game, and at half time the Te Aroha teain was leading by 10 goals to six. The shield is competed for annually at Te Aroha. > The players' in the Paeroa te,am were: ■ Alison Barclay ; (captain), Thelma Thompson, Margaretta Wight, Lola Buchanan, Laura Wood, Beryl Hampton, Marie Matkovich, Grace Dale and Grace McKee.
