CLEAN OIL.
Few motorists realise what an amount of sludge and abrasive matter is collected in the lubricating oil in their engine. The use of an oil filter soon brings home to one the necessity of frequently straining the oil or substituting fresh. In a run of only 1,500 miles a teaspoonful of abrasive matter will collect in .a strainer, whilst after 10,000 miles running as much as 21b of dirt and sludge have been collected from a strainer. Research has demonstrated that there is five times the wear in an automobile with unfiltered oil, than there is with oil that is filtered.
