THAMES VALLEY POWER BOARD. ENGINEER’S. REPORT. In the course of ,his report to the monthly meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Board at Te Aroha on Tuesday, the Engineer (Mr. N. G. McLeod) wrote as follows:— “Waihi Borough.—An eight chain light tension extension in Fenton Road and a twelve chain extension at the west end of Seddon Avenueswe'te completed durjng the period, nine new consumers being added. The erection of poles, along Kensington Road for the Moresby Avenue block is almost complete. In about three weeks’ time, the wiring and services should be finished, when power will be made available. “Paeroa Borough.—Six chains of three-phase. 7-16th line have been run in Puke Road to supply an oil company. It has been necessary to rearrange several service mains crossings on account of alterations in the Post and Telegraph lines in the Borough. “Netherton. —The 11,000 volt line on Fisher’s Road has been extended on existing poles for a distance of 70 chains to a new sub-station, to improve supply. This extension was made alive on June 27th. A new 11,000 volt transformer station has been erected on the old Netherton Road, midway between Sargent’s and Laughlin’s transformers. A gap of 20 chains has been wired up with 7-14ths copper, and feeding arrangenients re-adjusted. Supply has been greatly improved.

“Maintenance.—The Puke-Netherton lines were given a general overhaul on May 20th, 21st and 22nd, four bad poles being replaced. The llikutaiaMatatoki section was given a quick overhaul on May 15th, one bad pole and some cross-arms bejug replaced. The light tension supply in- Puriri was cut off on May 23rd and three bqd poles near Courtney’s were replaced. The following transformer stations have been overhauled:—Huirau Road, Gumtown Road, Awaiti West, Omahu, Fisher’s Road, Matatoki Township, Puriri, Kopu and Waitakaruru. ' “Telephones.—The Board’s < telephone system in the district has been overhauled and the switching system in Paeroa Depot re-arranged to facilitate intercommunication.’ ’
