PAEBOA RUGBY UNION. MEETING OF COMMTTIEE. The regular committee meeting of the Paero,a Rugby Union was held on Monday night, the chairman, Mr W. Pennell, presiding over the following: Messrs R. Hodson, E. L. Shaw, J, Rackhajn, K. L. Slyfiqld, J. M, Crosby (Secretary), and T, C, Arnold (Referees’ Association). PLAYER’S CONDUCT. At the request of. the committee RRadford, an East junior player, appeared to explain why he. had refused to travel with the. junior team to Te Aroha, and Why, when questioned on the matter by'the manager, he had used bad language. Mt Rackham outlined the incident, and pointed out that unless players when traveJliiig were prepared to obey the instructions of the manager, organisation and harmony would, be set at nought.

In explanation Radford said that he had no excuse to offer, and he strongly objected to the attitude adopted by the manager. •

The chairman said that conveyances had been arranged to convey the team to Te Aroha, and it was desirable that all players should travel together in .those cars. Previously players had made their own arrangements to go to Te Aroha, and when the time came for the to take the field some fo the players had hardly been in a, fit state to play. Radford said that he had his own car, and had intended leaving Paeroa at the same time as the team. He desired to take his own ear beca.use he had to go to Ma.tamata after the match. Mr Shaw said that Radford had been truthful about the matter, and he moved that no action be taken under the circumstances. Seconded by Mr Rackham, who sa,id that he had laid the complaint as a warning to players. RESIGNATION. Mr J. H. Walmsley tendered his resignation as a member of the committee, and also his seat on the Thames Vallley Rugby Union. The resignation was accepted with regret. Mr Shaw was appointed to fill the vacancy on the Thames Valley Union. FAILURE OF MATCH. Mr T. C. Arnold reported that in compliance with instructions last Saturday he had journeyed to Netherton to referee the Netherton v. West junior match. The Netherton team took the field with 14 players, but the West team did not turn up. He sought a ruling as to the result of such action. The secretary and Mr Shaw explained that in connection with some -of the Netherton officials at Paeroa on Saturday morning it had been learned that the Netherton senior team wa,s short of players, and that several of the juniors would be required to fill the vacancies, and it would not be possible to field a junior team. The West team had all been ready to travel, but in view of the information received, the trip was cancelled. Mr Arnold contended that he was entitled to notice of the cancellation of the match. Mr Rackham drew attention to rule 28, a.nd contended that Netherton was at fault. It wns not fair that the referee should have made the trip. After some discussion it was resolved that the match be played later on in the segson. REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS. The senior representative team asselected for Saturday, was approved. With regard to the junior team a member took exception to H. Moore being selected, as he had played two senior games since, being regr.a,ded, and it was not fair to the other players, to select him. After sonsiderable discussion it was resolved that the tea.in as selected should stand. VISIT OF THAMES TEAM. An application was received from the Thames Ramblers club for a senior match at Paeroa, on Saturday next. The application was granted, and thq B representative team selected to play Thames was approved. PEACE CUP.
