ABANDONED ON TE AROHA ROAD.

On Saturday evening Constable J. illvt’lincb.v recovered a motor-car which had been abaiiiloiieil on the Te Arolia Hoad iic.nr MUI lim'd, Paej’oa. The ear, which is a new model Chevrolet, has the appearance of havim-, received rough I rea I meal. On examination il war, found tbal. Ihe two registralion number plate;; were mis<ing. The nlckel-pliited Inch plates on both sides of the car had been wrenched oil. and ai’e also missing, .is also is the, chassis number-plate. Prom inquiries made it lias be"ii ascertained that the car was driven on to the roadside and abandoned by two young men, who hurried away from the; spot. The police have ascertained that a car answering the description iff the this one, was stolen from Tauranga on June 16. It is presumed that the car was driven from Tauranga, over Kainrni Hill, on towards Paeroa,. It is understood that the police are likely to make an early arrest of the culprits.
