; GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES, TO-NIGHT. THE CALGARY STAMPEDE. The largest herd of American bison still in existence plays an important part in the "Calgary Stampede,” starring Hoot Gibsoil, which is to be shown to-night. A herd of 10,000 aboriginal beasts of the western plains, in their sanctuary near Calgary, where the Gibson picture was made, were stampeded for one of the big scenes of the film. In this scene Gibson saves the life of the mounted policema.n who is pursuing him and who has been felled before the hoofs of the onrushing herd. SATURDAY NIGHT. THE HALF-WAY GIRL. A ship on fire at sea. Scores of panic-stricken passengers fighting for places in the lifeboats. Lashed to the deck are cages off wild beasts in shipment for a circus. The above company will appear at the Gaiety Theatre, Paeroa, on Tuesday, for one night, and present a.n entertainment equal to the best. The Optimists are the first cousins of the famous London Co-optimists, which company has been running for the last five years in London, and is now a household word in England, the
