Danby remarked that the non-payers were like noxious weeds —there was always a fresh crop. Arising out of the discussion concerning the action taken by the hospital committee in connection with the resignation of the medical superintendent, Mr P. E. Brenan asked the chairman at Monday’s meeting of the Thames Hospital Board if the British Medical Association v J as running the board’s affairs. The chairman (Mr W. E. Hale) replied, “No, we hope not,” but he admitted that the association played a big part in the welfare and interests of its members.
