During the last week several games of interest were played in the competition on the local green. Handicap Singles :—J. Holland beat J. Watson, J. Watson beat T. Hall, J. Douglas beat T. Elliot F. Auld beat G. A. Shaw. J D. Turton beat T. Hall, W. Smith beat A. McGhie, J. D. Turton beat T. Holt, J. Watson beat J. D.Turton, W. Smith tied with E. Smith, W. Barclay tied with E. Smith. Champion Singles:—F. Auld beat T. Hall, T. Elliot beat T. Hart, E. George beat W. Smith, J. Watson beat W. Smith, A. McIntye beat E. Smith, W. Barclay beat J. Watson, J. Holland beat J. Turton. Pairs Championship :—■ H. Meadows and W. Smith beat H. McDonald and J. Watson. On Saturday afternoon a Glen Massey team travelled to Huntly to play a challenge match for the Avey Cup. The Huntly players were R. Fairhurst, T. Holt, F. Auld and F. Littleproud skip but owing to the rain it was agreed to play 15 heads at which stage the scores were even at 11 all Huntly retaining the cup.
