ST. JOHN AMBULANCE DANCE.

LARGELY ATTENDED. The local branch of the St. John Ambulance Association held a very successful dance and card party in the Town Hall on Thursday evening last. There was a large attendance, and a most enjoyable time was spent, the music being supplied by Peden’s Orchestra. During the evening, several novelty dances were held, the winners of the\ Monte Carlos being, Miss N. Knapper and Mr. C. Grunton; Miss Doyle and Mr. Suttie, and Miss O’Brien and Mr. P. Taly. The hat dance was won by Miss N. Moyes and Mr. Hannah. A competition was held, the prize winners being Miss J. Douglas Ist, Master G. Wilkinson 2nd, Master W. Ainscough 3rd. As usual the euchre tables were well patronised, the winners being as follows: Gents, Mr. D. Luke Ist, Mr. D. Brown 2nd; Ladies, Mrs. A. Shead Ist, Mrs. Pawson 2nd. Among those present were: Mrs. G.
