SALE OF WORK
On Friday and Saturday of last veek a successful Sale of Work vas held in the Town Hall Supper Room in aid of Methodist Ihurch Funds. Assisted by local friends and members from Taupiri he Ladies’ Guild organized the effort. Several months of prepirition resulted in a large assortnent of useful aiticles being for sale. As’. i fish pond p viU'-J -5 '■ for both adults and Jiec The candle lighting competition was won by Master Guy King. Mrs Chisholm secured the prize or ladies nail driving, while Mr Wilson of Taupiri canied off that -'or gents nail driving. Two weighing competitions attracted large entries. No one judged the he correct weight of the cake, which was 51bs B?4‘ zs, but Mrs Hedley Senr was nearestandgain•d the prize. Mrs Cui ley and Mrs W. Leather tied in winning the owl weighing competition both giving the exact weight of 4!bs.
At the Sunday evening service Rev. C. E. Dickens expressed the thanks of the Church, to all who issisted with gifts and help, especially to the Ladies' Guild and friends who managed the sale.
