HUNTLY TOWN BOARD.

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING The fortnightly meeting of the Huntly Town Board was held on Tuesday night there being present, Messrs. W. C. E. George, chairman, W. H. Bailey, L. ICosoof, T. Hall, H. •J. R. Sheeran, and C. Hay-Chapman, town clerk. Storm Water Nuisance A letter was received from a ratepayer complaining that a considerable quantity of storm water was finding its way into his property and requested the Board to do something to prevent the nuisance. It was resolved that the matter be attended to. New Zealand Railways A communication was received from the above Department stating that a Royal Commission would be set up to consider the railway services on all branch lines and asked the Board il‘ it would have any evidence to submit with regard to the Huntly-Glen Afton service. It was decided to forward a reply to the Department pointing out that if there was any thought of curtailing the service in any way the Board would wish to have a representative present at the Commission. Building Permits Applications for permits were submitted by the* following, which were passed, subject to the Town Clerk’s approval:—F. Littleproud, dwelling; Main Street; J. B. Gray, dwelling, ilakanoa Street; J. R. Littlewood, dwelling, Hakanoa Street. Tenders for Lease of Shops It was resolved to extend the time for the closing of the above tenders to the 29th inst. Footpaths It was decided to have the paths at the side of the hall put in order by the contractor; also the necessary repairs undertaken to the footpaths ■ii Huntly South. Sanitary Service Contract The Clerk was instructed to call for tenders for the above contract, closing on the 29th instant. Works Committee The Works Committee was authorised to inspect the intersections in Great South Road with a view to having them sealed.
