MINERS’ HALL—TO-NIGHT The management have much pleasure in presenting to their patrons, programmes which contain some of the strongest picture conbinations yet seen in Huntly. Maurice Costello whom we do not see very olten is featured in the star for to-night entitled “The Criminal ” This it a very intense dramatic subject dealing with the underworld and is handled in a very masterly manner by Mr Costello. Supporting subjects also deserve mention such as “ A Sprig of Shamrock ’’ (Irish Drama) The Allies in the East and the Topical Budget (war subject) and two very healthy comedies. The ladies are specially invited to see their favourite Maurice Costello in the star attraction.

On Saturday Mr Calder will screen Sir Conan Doyle’s great masterpiece “Brigadier General”. The chief parts in this popular drama are sustaixxd by the great English acter, Mr Lewis Waller and his beautiful and charming lady Miss Madge Titheradge. They produced the same play with marked success in England, America and Australia. The film version if anything has a broarder movement and even those who never saw the actual play will thoroughly enjoy the picture. This picture can be undoubtedly classed as a a masterpiece, and a special invitation is extenderl to people who do not usually patronize pictures. A good supporting variety programme is included consisting of four extra subjects amongst them being a good slapstick L-Ko comedy. Reserves as usual at McNee’s. The final episodes of the Million Dollar will be shown next Tuesday.
