Electric Light Additional Loan.
A Poll on the proposal to raise an additional loan of £2OOO for bringing the proposed Electric Lig-it and Power Works right up to cate was taken on Wednesday last. Not a very great deal of interest was taken in the poll, only 67 out of a roll number of 336 recording their votes. The result of the poll as advertised in another column is in favour of the raising of the addiiiunal amount, and the Board vvili now be able to go on with !t i e scheme as mapped out by i Mr Fenn. T ie ratepayers are to be con--1 granulated on the sound common sense shown ill approving oi the Loan, and the Board no doubt will feel gratified at the further confidence the people have shown in them and the schema. Tenders for most of the works close on Oct 21st. ansi we may look forward with confidence to seeing some tangible result of the operations soon after that date.
