Two Turkish, newspaper® ,the “Tan Tasviri” and the “Efkar,” have been suppressed indefinitely for publishing a.cartoon and an article that was insulting to Italy. FRENCH GENERAL FOR SYRIA. . ; CAIRO, Dec. 8. According to well informed French quarters, General Dentz, the Commander of. the Fifteenth . Army Corps in the Marseilles District, has . been, appointed as French High Commissioner for Syria in succession to the late M. It is officially stated that Roumania has promised .to deliver three, million tons of oil to Germany during 1841. . Roumanians guarantee- of oil for Germany next year, represents sixty per cent, of Roumanians total export to Germany. New pipelines are being built to' relieve the transport' pressure on the- Roumanian railways. Roumania is also exporting her surplus cattle and cereals to Germany, excepting certain amounts, that are destined for other countries, which are supplying Roumania with, goods that are not,; ,obtainable ' from; Germany. It is estimated that 70 per cent, of Roumania’s total' exports are now going. to Germany.
