R.A.F. ATTACKS SHIPS

RAID ON VALONA;

Enemy shipping oli southern Albanian 'coast-were attacked by -It: A. E. bombers on Saturday. ( A direct hit was legisteied oil the stern of one ship. Other bombs fell very close. A further-raid was made on Valona, but the weather conditions were bad. Heavy fighter opposition was met, but the attack was pressed'home. All übmbs fell in the target area, but'it was impossible to observe the full extent of the :damage. One Italian fighter was shot downf • ■' It is now confirmed tha one of the two Italian aircraft reported, damage in the encounter with our fighters over sßara on November 22, made a forced landing, sixty miles from Bura. One of the crew was killed, ike remaining four being- captured. It,is recalled that in these.encounters, a Caproni aircraft was shot down in flames', so of three Italian bombers at-tempting-to raid.
