THIS YEAR’S ‘FIGURES (Per Press Association— Copyright). * WELLINGTON, December 5. The overseas trade figures, excluding specie, for New Zealand for October, 1940, were: Exports, £4,818,000; imports, £4,011,000; excess of exports, £807,000. The figures for 1939, with those for 1938 in parentheses, were: Exports, £3,907,000 ,£2,165,000); imports, £3,330,000 (£4,270,000); excess of exports, £577,000 (£2,105,000 excess of imports). The figures for the ten months ended October, 1940, were: Exports, £62,256,000; imports, £42,319,000; excess of exports, £19,937,000. The figures for the same period, 1939, with those for 1938 in parentheses, were: Exports, £51,383,000 (£50,262,000); imports, £43,545,000 (£45,874,000); and excess of exports £7,929,000 (£4.388,000).
