INTERNED ALIENS
NEALY 20,000 IN BRITAIN.
(British Official Wireless.)
RUGBY, Dec. 3.
In a statement in the House of Commons on the Government policy relating to the internment of aliens, Mr Morrison scaid that about eight thousand internees had been released. There were still nineteen thousand and five hundred aliens still interned!. Against about four thousand of these was evidence that they were unfriendly towards Britain. Out of the fifteen thousand five hundred remaining, the Home Secretary said it was hoped that their cases would be dealt with without undue delay, and that their numbers would be reduced accordingly. An order was made by the Homo Secretary on May 21, imposing certain restrictions, similar to those applicable on enemy aliens, upon all aliens who came to Britain after May 9th as war refugees. These have been revoked. The war refugees already in Britain are now subject only to restrictions. which happily to all nonenemy aliens.
