The possession of pamphlets, described by the Magistrate as being-of a scurrilous nature, resulted in a reserved judgment conviction of James Kelman, 37, a hairdresser, charged last'Thursday with having in his possession ; 127 copies of a 'pamphlet entitled “Murder,” with a view to facilitating the publication of a subversive static meat.

A sentence was imposed of 12 months’ hard labour. Mr Stout, S.M., said he : did hot think it could seriously b’e eontended that tiie pamphlet did'not contain a subversive statement. Kelman' had given no evidence to explain his possession of them, and Mr Stout thought it could properly be inferred that the only reason for his possession, was to facilitate publication.
