Lady Galway has received a letter from Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, in New Zealand, saying he lias been asked on behalf of His Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom to convey, through her, to the members of her committee and all helpers, an expression of most warm thanks for the* generous gifts of clothing etc., lor refugees, which are being Kent to England by the Guild. The work done by so large a number of willing workers is most warmly appreciated and is one more evidence of the desire on the part of the people of New Zealand to play their part in the common war effort.
