: SYDNEY TATTS METING. (Australian Press Association). v>' ' SYDNEY, Sop. lop. Continuing His winning way, Beauliyre . completed His “hat trick” on Saturday when ' He won the rich Chelmsford Stakes at the Tatter sails Cltib Meeting at Randwick. He also established his superiority over High ■Caste, but the latter Showed more dash on Saturday than in his recent races, and an interesting duel between the pair is expected in the Epsom Handicap, for which they are almost equal favourites. . Beaupartir and Gladynev held forward positions in the Spring Handicap, but neither threatened danger ill the final stages. The stewards held an inquihy into Glardnev’s running, and accepted the explanation of tne stable connections. The stewards later reported that they reprimanded the Jockey, Sliean, for his indifferent handling of Gladnev. The chief results were:— Tramway Handicap.—Telastur 1 ; Katanga 2; Radical 3. Fourteen started. Brazen Boy was scratched. Won by a head; a length. Time 1.25. Chelmsford (Stakes.—Beulivre 1; High Caste 2 Pandect 3. Won by half a length ; a head. Time''l.sls. Spring Handicap.—t?undagai 1; Old Rowley 2; Dashing Cavalier 3. Won by a neck • three-quarters of a length. Time 2.5 f. Tlie jockey, D. Munroe, expresses, the opinion that Ajax will have a hard task to beat Beulivre in weight for age races in Melbourne in October and November. Their first clash is likely to be in the Caulfield Stakes. Beaulivre’s time for the Chelmsford Stakes on Saturday was 1-.51J. It was actually as meritorious as Heroic’s 1.501 in 1924, as, owing to the false rail being in use on Saturday, Beulivre covered twenty-seven yards more than the customary distance of nine furlongs.
