(Received’this day at 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, July 15,
The French Legation at Dublin is issuing a statement with reference to the French Fleet, “so- that the Irish people will be in a position to form an independent neutral judgment.” It says the ships at Or,an were attacked when disarming, and were in no position to manoeuvre or fire. 1 hey had neither wireless nor ’planes at their disposal. If the British Admiralty or French Foreign Office had approached the French Government alter the armistice concerning the clause relating to the Fleet, the Trench Government- would have shown that full piecautions were being taken to ensure that Germany and Italy could not take over the Fleet, even if it broke its pledge against doing so.
