“UNCLE ALBERT’S EFFORT. “Uncle Albert” thanks the fourteen who offered their pianos for use on Wednesday evening. The response was, very gratifying to him. A feature of Wednesday nig’vt’si display will, first, he the children’s community sing, at 7.30 p.m. At 8 p.m. the concert programme will he commenced, with full radio broadcast by 3ZR Greymoutli. Mr Jim Duffy, one of New Zealand’s leading singers will lead big community sing, while ‘‘Uncle; Albert” and “Aunt Dorothy” willarrange the children’s session. In order to- allow patrons to see the t children giving their various items over the microphone, the doors will ‘open at 7.15 p.m., when the public are request-' ed to keep as silent as possible during the performance. In view of the effort to raise £IOOO, “Uncle Albert” invites intending donors to advise him of the value of their cheques, as it will be recognised : that lie has a big promise to fulfill in liis guarantee of finding this large sum on the one night.
