AT SCOTS CHURCH At Scots’ Memorial Church Cast evening the presentation of extracts from tiie Cantata ‘The Great Light by the combined Presbyterian and Methodist Choirs was thoroughly enjoyed by the . Aggregation present. The choir was under the conductorship of Mr P. Goodfellow, with Mr 1. Johnstone at the organ. The programme, which was interspersed with appropriate hyms sung by the choir and congregation, was as follows: Chorus ‘Praise Ye the Mighty God’. Soloist Rev. L. G. Hanna. Solos (Mr E. B. C. Murray and Miss A. McCarthy and Chorus —‘Every Valley). Solo (Mr A. Couch and Mrs Li Graham) and chorus —‘Behold a Virgin’ and ‘Brightest’and Best’. Solo (Miss E. Knight) and Chonus—'Calm on the Listening Ear’. Chorus—‘Light of the World’. Chorus— ‘0 Sacred Head’. Solos: (Mrs C. Harrison) ‘Thee is a Green Hill’ and “God is a spirit.’ Accompaniste: Miss E. Robinson. Hymn by choir ‘0 Come and Mourn’. CLorus —‘Slowly the Dajjlight is Fading’ Sob (Mr A. Couch) , ‘Easter Hymn’. Chords (Soloist Mrs L. Graham) ‘Christ is Risen’. Finai Chorus: ‘All Hail the Power’. At the conclusion of the performance members of the combined choir adjourned to the residence of Mr H. B. Preston (Brittan Street) where supper- was served and an enjoyable 1 time spent by all in musical items, and community .singing. During an interval Rev. M. Feist took the opportunity to make a presentation of a baton to Mr P. Goodfellow in appreciation of his services as conductor of the choir, and ■ a bouquet was presented to Mrs Goiidfeiow by Mrs A. Parkhill. The singing of ‘Aukl Lang SyUe’ brought a' very enjoyable evening to a close.
