The Washington correspondent of the ‘‘New York Times,” in an exclusive mcsage says: it is learned from diplomatic sources that' there is ' a strong possibility that if the Avlies break the impetus of the German drive, the Soviet will shift its foreign policy to support England and France. The speed of the Nazi drive, it is reported, has shocked the Kremlin, and M. Josef Stalin, who has been counting on a long war, faces the danger, of Russia becoming merely Herr Hitler’s vassal! if not worse.
