NEW YORK. March 17. Harold Dahl, an American aviator, who became, internationally publicised through his wife’s efforts to save him from a firing squad by sending to General Franco her pictures, has arrived here from Spain. W ith him have come five other former prisoners in" Spain, : • "Dald’s wife came to- meet him. but was 30, minutes late-in arriving at the pier She greeted him with surprising casualness,' Site merelv said “Hello!” She presented her cheek for a kiss, explaining that she did not want to smear him with lipstick. Mrs Dahl left in a cab with two other men, leaving her husband to follow alone.
