The Soviet military and civil authorities have occupied Wiipuri. '1 In 'Finns indicated the positions of landmines, m hicli the Russians are clearing
away. The evacuation of civilians from tlu Ladoga area is in full swing. Trainloads are proceeding to towns throughout Finland, where the authorities arc preparing accommodation in schools and other buildings, until a bot*ri means is found of relieving the pitiable conditions. Scarcity of transport compelled thousands to abandon their fur nituro and personal belongings to the Russians.
Helsinki newspapers are discussing the building of a new Hanko. at Porkala, on the largest cape left to Finland under the peace treaty.
