DRILL EXPLOSION FATALITY. WHANGAREI, August 22. An inquest into the death of Gavin Charles Cotter, who died in hospital on July 19 following terrible injuries caused by the explosion of a drill which he was dressing at Tauraroa Quarry, was held to-day. The verdict was that death was caused bv shock, following an explosion of gelignite which had accidentally got into the drill during earlier boring operations.
