SPEED OF 115 MILES AN HOUR.

A new Dominion motor-cycle speed record of 115.38 miles an hour was established by L. Evans an the West Coast road at dawn on Saturday morning
A series of speed events were held on the bitumen between Aylesbury and Kir wee and several new Dominion records were set up. The trials were held under the supervision of the Transport Department by the Canterbury Anto-Cyele Club. All runs were electrically timed Evans, riJfng an O.K. Supreme, touched 120 miles an hour during Ids record run, the accepted time of 115.38 miles an hour being the average of his two runs. All the trials were made from flying starts.
Results of the trials were: —250 c.e. —O. Williams (Radge), 76.92 m.p.h.. 1; 350 c.e. —M. Wear (Velocette), 98 9 •m.p.h. 1; 500 c.e. —L. Evans (0.K.. Supreme), 111.8 m.p.h., 1; A. Trustrum (A..T.5.), 106.51 m.p.h., 2; T Stanley (Norton), 105.88 m.p.h., 3; A. Lamport .(J.A.P.), 103.45 m.p.h., 4; R Rodgers fA.J/S.), 100.56 m.p.h., 5. Open Class.—L. Evans (O.K. Sunreme) 114.65 m.p.h. In a later ' attempt, Evans established his record of 115.38 m.p.h.
