Mr E. B. C. Murray, District Land Registrar and Assistant Commissioner of Stamp Duties etc., for Westland, will proceed on annual leave at the end of this week. His place wdll be taken temporarily by Mr C. J. L. McCree, Assistant Land Registrar for Canterbury.

The London “Daily Express” says it is understood that the cruisers Southampton and Glasgow, will convoy the Empress of Australia to Canada, leaving Portsmouth at 2 p.m., G.M.T. on Saturday. The Empress of Australia will be manned by a picked crew of merchant seamen, with \a fminiinum number of naval ratings for the signalling guard. Their Majesties will occupy two of the largest suites, comprising ten rooms on a deck.
