CLEVER FRAUD

i Bacchus Marsh police yesterday revealed an amazing fraud which was carried: Cut on district residents. A young man who claimed to have lost an arm in a mining accident, and also to be deaf and dumb, visited a Balliang home. / ' ; ; Ho showed a card explaining liis position to a sympathetic housewife. He was given food and money. As he was leaving the house Senior Constable Barrett, of Bacchus Marsh, •drove into the yard. lie intercepted the beggar and found that lie had‘.his alleged missing arm cleverly concealed behind liis back.
