NEW DEFENCE PREPARATIONS.

Signor Mussolini, presiding at a meeting of Cabinet, outlined new military preparations. , *
. Cabinet approved of further large ’arms credits for new fortifications and anti-Esircri(ft guns.. The; Government has called up for special training all, military pilots from the rank of captain downwards. They will undergo a 60 days’ course. Cabinet also approved of measures to curtail the activities of Jewish doctors and members of other professions, Cabinet also endorsed plans to check an influx of people from the country to the town. GERMANY CLAIAIS SUPPORT. BERLIN, April 29. An inspired statement says- that Italian-German military discussions are expected during the visit of General von Brauehitsch (Chief of the German General Staff) to Rome. It would only he. natural if the occasion were used for intimate discussions, going beyond the programm'dWiginallv laid down for the .visit: The statement adds that political circles; in Rome warn Poland' aghinst' endarigering her good relations with Italy. For example, it says," Czechoslovakia and Italy’s attitude to it shows wliat Italy’s attitude would be if untenable positions were to be obstinately defended. Italy believes that Britain has intimated that her Poland guarantee does not amount to opposition to reasonable suggestions
