An Australian. women’s hookey team, is to be invited to, Zealand 4 for the tournament in May, 1940, ac-> \ cording to a decision of. the. anriual meeting of the New Zealand Women’s 'Hockey Association. ; •' It was decided to postpone any decision' as to where the tournament should be held, until after applications had been received from the affiliated Asso- ' ciatibns. ~, 4

ANNUAL MEETING

At the annual meeting of the West Coast Hockey Association the > President’s annual report, was adopted. It stated that six teams had entered in, the Association’s conipetitions, Pacific winning- the chariipionisbip-.and Tahua (Hokitika) the; Ken Balchin Cup. The visit of the Indian hockey team had involved the Association in a heavy loss owing to the bad'weather conditions, but much of the loss had been, .made ..up,; largely due to the efforts of Messrs . G., Hanna arid J. , .Stapleton (Hokitika). - - V The Canterbury Hockey ,Association , advised that it was hoped to institute. the ■ competition for the Quartrebras Cup, with a. tournament commencing at Christchurch. on May 15, and limited, to minor arid sub-associations in the South Island.
