We’ve come, to pick up something. “We won’t be long.?’ • . . ... The watchman nodded, and walked away; . -;.b It was later discovered that what the three youths had “picked up” was the Chicken Inn office safe, containing £45. in cash and a number of cheques. - , They had clambered on to a skillion. roof, broken into the premises by a window, carried the safe, which weighed 1 cwt., to the goods lift, and lowered it to the dock level. Loading it into the ear, they drove off without interference. The safe was later found in a stormwater channel near Jubilee Park, Glebe. . ■
