PALMERSTON N., December 2. t At Shannon, this afternoon, the I southbound Napier express struck a car driven by Arthur John Hodge, a j I sliarernilker, of Moutoa, who was ac- _ j companied by lu’s wife and three child- , . j ren- | Those in the car were all injured, j I and were taken to hospital. The car, an old touring model, was considerably damaged. It was carried 100 feet . f beyond the ‘ crossing. The injured I were:— >‘ J - J John Hodge, head injuries and a j fror.f.nrp of the-left thigh. Mrs Hodge, | shock. Bertha Hodge, aged 16, fracture of the left'thigh.' Dorothy Hedge, aged 5, a broken leg. Edwin Hodge, aged 2, possibly internal injuries.
