YOUTH CHARGED WITH CAti CONVERSION. CHRISTCHURCH, September 22: How an escapee from the Borstal Institute at Invercargill had unlawfully converted Touir cars on his way up to Christchurch was related By De-tective-Sergeant Bickerdike in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when Patrick James Bennett, aged 17, was charged witli converting cars, at Inyefcargil!,. Dunedin, Oamaru and Ashburton; He was also charged With breaking and entering and committing theft at Waimiimu. On this charge and also oil;the charge of converting a car at. Invercargill, Bennett was remanded.to appear at Invercargill on September 29. On the three other charges, to which Ho pleaded guilty, Bennett was coiivictbd and discharged by Mr Levvey, S.M'. F.
