Sir.—As a constant. reader of Observer's wreeklv contribution to your coimuns;,permit me to express my appreciation of his comments, especially of his remarks last week on the proposed Beautifying Association. It is unfortunate that the initial meeting of this movement .was called while; we ■«r- Irvittg to decide between, two political programmes, each so rich in plums that the question is which will be financially indigestible, but I have, sufficient faith in the Scotch element among the promoters to be certain they \yill remember Bruce and the spider, and, like that hero, take heart and persevere: ;and succeed. ; • -Lam, etc., STILL hopeful; .
