SUDETEN REFUGEES. BERLIN, September 20. Impartial foreign circles regard the figure of one hundred thousand for the refugees from Sudetenland, as cabled earlier as being much exaggerated. CONCERN FOR CZECHS. LONDON, September 20. The Executive Committee of the National Peace Cuoncil met and issued a 'Statement to the effect (that no effort should be spared in order to avoid such, an immeasurable disaster as a general European war. It added that no solution would be satisfactory if it were simply a device to gain time in order to accelerate war preparation, or if it were to bargain to secure immunity from war for Britain at the expense of Czechoslovakia’s liberties. The committee condemned a policy forcing any further concessions from Czechoslovakia, unless they were safeguards for its independence "ancT for its " economic future provided.
