A meeting ot about fifty racing owners and trainers, held at Riccarton last night, dismissed the demands made for an awaial In the Stable Hands Union. Hon. G. R. Hunter ' presided, and Mr H. R. Sellers. Secretary of the Racine.' Conference was present. The demands of the union were gone into in detail and in a discussion, the point was stressed that conditions of work differed substantially in racing and irotting stables. A committee was appointed to meet the representative*, from Trotting Owners and Breeders Association rtext week.
