After tour days’ south-easterly weather, during which over three inches of rain fell, causing creeks to flood and block the roads in several places, the weather is now fine and sunny. AUCKLAND, June 15. A memorandum from the Education Department to the Boards urges extreme measures in coping with the present serious shortage of teachers for country schools.
