ANOTHER WIN
TO TOURING X.Z. LEAGUE TEAM. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, June 15. Failing in tactics and in handling the New Zealand Rugby League tourists managed to score only 23 points against 4he poor country opposition of the Far North Coast team at Lismoie today. The North Coast team scored two points. Two thousand people watched the match. ' It was played on a wet, soggy ground which precluded bright back play, and with a drizzle of rain during the half time. The hall was like greased glass, but there was no wind. The New Zealand team was:—J. Smith, Brown Midgley, Tittleton, McNeil, AY. Brimble, Grotte, Anderson, Gault, Glynn, Satherle.v, Coates, Herring. Altogether the New Zealand second lino did not inspire hopes for tho future, there was a lack of enterprise and a failure to penetrate and also a lack of devil among the forwards, whose offside tactics resulted in many penalties, and marred the game.
Only the sound tackling of Smith saved the home side from scoring tries. The score res for New Zealand were: Tries —Brimble, Anderson, Tittleton, Brown and Grotte. Smith converted four tries.
